To succeed at school a child, first of all, needs to master the basic learning skills: reading, writing, and counting. They are the basis of all education. Reading is a vital skill for acquiring new knowledge necessary for further study. A student who cannot read or is poorly able to do this cannot successfully acquire knowledge. After all, the process of school education always involves the independent work of children. Inadequate mastery of reading technique by students, and, most importantly, the ability to understand what they read, will be accompanied by serious difficulties in academic work that may lead to academic failure, a violation of the readings. In modern literature, reading disorders are referred to as dyslexia.
Reading disorders have a negative impact on the entire learning process, on children’s mental and speech development. The modern identification of these disorders, the precise determination of their pathogenesis in each individual case, the separation of dyslexia from reading errors, is characteristic, extremely important for building a system of speech therapy work with children.
In recent years, it has become a matter of urgency that in every class there are students who are not able to read properly and meet the requirements of the educational process. Studying in the second, third, and higher grades, a lot of children cannot read correctly, fluently, consciously and expressively. In addition, since the reading skill is a basic skill for the formation of the rest of the above-subject knowledge, it is obvious that corrective work should be carried out especially with such students.
The point is that students who are not able to overcome their problems with reading or writing during primary school will have a lot of issues later while studying at high school or even college. There are a lot of essay editing services nowadays to correct grammar and paper style, however, it is a top priority for students to have the ability to independently conduct their own research and achieve good results. However, paper writing services are intended to give students the right direction of paper writing, therefore, students are able to reach higher intended learning outcomes.
The classical classroom system used in schools, while still remaining the most popular form of education, does not consider all differences in children’s abilities and the need for their support and development. Therefore, within its framework, in particular, for elementary school, by the efforts of teachers and psychologists various methods and forms of education were developed, allowing a more detailed approach to the problems of the formation of learning activities, the education of the individual and the development of child’s personality in modern conditions. The creation of new conditions that meet the modern concept of national education humanization is associated with the transfer of schools into a development model based on the introduction of innovations in all areas of its activity. One of the ways to create such conditions is to use personal computers and innovative apps.
New computer technologies have become a promising means of correctional and developmental work with children with speech disorders. Ubiquitous computerization opens up new, not yet explored learning options. They are associated with the unique capabilities of modern electronics and telecommunications.
Correctional educational work with children who have developmental disabilities involves the use of specialized or adapted computer programs (mainly teaching, diagnostic and developmental). The effect of their use depends on the professional competence of a teacher, the ability to use new opportunities, include ICT in the education system of each child, creating greater motivation and psychological comfort, as well as giving students the freedom to choose forms and means of activity.
The use of special apps in the classroom at school implements such goals as:
- Development of the motivational sphere: the formation of cognitive needs, motives of achievement and self-affirmation;
- The formation of the arbitrariness of mental processes;
- Remedial work with students with disabilities, their rehabilitation, and adaptation;
- The implementation of an individual approach to children in the learning process, since each student can work on the computer at his own pace and to the best of his ability;
Special apps directed on helping students with special needs can be divided into:
- Educational games that form new knowledge and ways of acting on academic subjects;
- Reinforcing games that contribute mainly to the development of skills and the development of existing skills in academic subjects;
- Supervising games intended mainly for further development of skills in academic subjects;
- Educational games designed to develop a variety of useful psychophysical qualities of a student.
Special computer apps provide the opportunity to individualize learning. While working with such apps, children gain additional self-confidence that they can do a lot. Consequently, it should be noted that computer technologies contribute to:
- Students intellectualization;
- Mental development;
- Pedagogical process improvement;
- Students curiosity development;
- Developing environment elements creation;
- The individual and differentiated approach to each student and a positive emotional background.
Lessons using special computer apps are conducted along with the usual activities, where it is possible and advisable to use computers to solve the particular tasks of the lesson so that students can understand more deeply, feel the subject of the lesson, and creatively manifest themselves.
Experiments on the use of computers have revealed that computer along with new special apps has several advantages in comparison to traditional forms of teaching younger students. Computer programs designed for remedial education of children, first of all, take into account the features and peculiarities of their development, and also rely on modern methods of overcoming and preventing developmental deviations. The variety of defects, their clinical and psychological-pedagogical manifestations involves the use of different correction techniques, and, consequently, the use of different computer technologies. Their use contributes to the effectiveness of the correctional educational process. Therefore, the development of new methods, computer apps and technologies, and means of remedial education of children seems to be one of the actual directions of the development of special pedagogy.
