Blitzwolf BW-FYE5 Review – a True Wireless Earbuds in a Tight Budget
The wireless earbuds aren’t something new, but completely removing any wire even between the earpieces is a new trend. Having a pair of wireless earbuds is really cool! And, yes it’s true! A few days ago, I have got my Blitzwolf BW-FYE5 true wireless earbuds that I’m using now almost every day. And, thinking about reviewing the Blitzwolf BW-FYE5, here I’m writing this post.
However, it might be the first time you’re hearing the brand-name Blitzwolf for wireless earbuds. But, in reality, Blitzwolf is a well-known Chinese brand that builds small gadgets, electronic parts, etc. And, there are already several great quality truly wireless earbuds in the market by the name of it. So, let’s talk more about Blitzwolf BW-FYE5 wireless earbuds. You’ll like it, I think!

Package Content of Blitzwolf BW-FYE5 True Wireless Earbuds
Generally, all the Blitzwolf BW-FYE series earbuds come in the same box (white and green colored) with the information about the product and the model name. But, inside the box, you’ll get the earphones themselves inside its charging case, three different sizes of ear muffs, a micro USB charging cable, user manual, and the warranty card of 18 months.
Build & Design
Blitzwolf FYE5 comes with a beautiful and elegant design — both of the earbuds and the case. The earbuds case itself is lighter and more compact than ever before, made out of tough plastic with a textured design on the outside layer, so it would not slip suddenly out of hand. Also, the case has no hard curve, it looks egg-shaped which makes it easy to keep in your pocket (even in a tighter jeans pocket). The case opens and closes magnetically, however, it’s a little bit difficult to open the case not having any support at the lower side like the upper.
Inside the case, the earbuds are also attached to their charging docks magnetically that’s really cool. For the first time when you remove the earbuds from the case, don’t forget to peel the small stickers from the changing pins so they can be charged when placing them into the box later.
The earbuds themselves are also small in size, completely made out of shiny plastic (black & metallic blue), and each earbud has a silicone cover at the end and a circular button with LED on the top. Its prolonged body towards the silicone tip is very essential that makes it easy to place the earbuds in the ear canal. And, it feels really very comfortable to wear even for longer periods of time. Moreover, BW-FYE5 is also IPX6 Waterproof – you can freely wear the earbuds in the rain and shower. But, it’s better to not use them in the rain or shower, I haven’t tried!
Battery & Charging
Each of the two earbuds comes with a built-in 50mAh battery that takes about 1 hour and a half to two hours to get fully charged. The outer circular LED flashes blue once every 7 seconds while the earbuds are paired to your mobile device and the LED start flashing red when the battery is low.
On the other hand, the charging case has a 400mAh built-in battery (might be very low but it was indeed to keep the case size so small). The case requires about 2 hours to go from 0 to 100%. To understand the battery level of the charging case, Blitzwolf didn’t include any external indictor. But, you can see the battery level in a circular white LED inside the case. The LED flashes white once every two seconds when the battery is underneath 25%, flashes twice every two seconds when the battery is between 25 to 50%, flashes three times every two seconds when the battery is between 50 to 75%, and four times every 2 seconds when the battery level is above 75%. However, understanding the battery status through this system is a great approach that advanced users will love. But surely it’s not so intuitive for the general users.
Setup & Connectivity
The Blitzwolf BW-FYE5 supports Bluetooth 5.0 which means it works with a 10-meter radius of your device, and you won’t experience any static or cut-offs when you are in. The setup process of Blitzwolf BW-FYE5 is pretty similar to most wireless earphones today. Here the steps below –
- At first, remove the earbuds from the charging case and they will be activated
- Now, switch ON your phone’s Bluetooth, and you’ll see the available devices
- Then select “BW-FYE5” and connect
That’s it, simple! And, when you want not to listen anymore, just place the earbuds back to the charging case, they will be turned off and start charging.
Control
As I said before, on the top of each earphone there is a dark plastic button with a circular LED which flashes red or blue (or both) depending on what you are doing with the earphones. Like to play or pause the current song, short press the button on any earbud. To go to the next song, short press the button on the right earpiece two times in a row and, likewise to return to the previous song, short press the button on the left earpiece two times.
While answering an incoming call, do a short-press any of the two buttons during the call. And, to reject the call, long-press the button. On the iPhone, to wake up the Siri, long-press the button on any earbud for about 1.5 seconds.
Performance & Sound Quality
With 50mAh battery Blitzwolf BW-FYE5 can deliver about 2 hours of continuous use (using approximately 70% and lower volume, the battery delivered more than 2 hours). On the other hand, with a fully charged 400mAh charging case you can recharge the earbuds battery about four times (that’s a total ‘continuous’ use of more than 8 hours).
In terms of sound quality, it’s not so robust but good enough to go with it considering its price. The sound is pretty natural with a good balance of bass and treble. The bass is great, however, the mid-range sits behind the bass that means the bass often takes the front seat in front of vocals. You can hear the vocals are often quieter than the bass but not always and, using an equalizer with a few tweaks you can solve this.
Besides, there is no difference in sounds between two earbuds, both of them provides the same. So, you can share the same tune with your friend, or someone you love!

Wrap Up
After using for several days, the Blitzwolf BW-FYE5 seems great to me. However, it’s not the best and the sound quality is not so robust. But, keeping in mind that it’s truly wireless and with an affordable price of $36.99, it’s great. Perfect for the long journey, when you’re walking here and there, or when you’re cycling on a flat surface. And, it’s good not to use when you’re running or doing a workout because the earbuds may fall. In my case, the earbuds haven fall yet while jerking my head roughly, but it’s better not to take the risk.
